Reptile Gardens Coloring Contest WinnersOn: 2010-06-22 13:22:20
Despite the lack of sunshine, Reptile Gardens had a great turn out for their 73rd Guest Appreciation Weekend and Birthday Party for their beloved giant tortoise Methuselah. 
Families who attended not only had the chance to visit the more than 200 species of reptiles and the park, but there was also plenty of food. Everyone at the park enjoyed cake (courtesy of Family Thrift Center), Coca-Cola, and Methuselah’s favorite treat, watermelon. Other highlights included prize drawings and a Coloring Contest.
Reptile Gardens gave out more than 2,200 coloring sheets at Family Thrift Centers throughout Rapid City. Kids were asked to color the picture and return it to Family Thrift Center to be hung in the park for Methuselah’s birthday and to be entered in the contest.
Pictures were judged in three different age groups: 0-5 years old, 6-9 years old and 10-12 years old. The winners are:
∙ Kendal Kostenbauer, age 5
∙ Darcy Ringer, age 8
∙ Taylor Anderson, age 11
Reptile Gardens would like to thank everyone their sponsors, Family Thrift Center and Coco-Cola, as well as all of those who attended and remind the kids to be on the lookout for the 130th birthday coloring sheets next year at your Rapid City Family Thrift Centers.
